CSPES membership

The Connecticut State Police Emerald Society Membership is a fraternal society dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Irish history, Irish culture and for the furtherance of the highest standards of professionalism in law enforcement.

The following classes of membership and requirements therefore shall be available:

• Regular Members - Regular membership shall be available to any active or retired trooper of the Connecticut State Police Department.

• Associate members - Associate membership shall be available to any active or retired officer of any federal state or municipal police agency.

• Honorary Members - Honorary membership shall be available to any person who demonstrates a love for the Irish culture and history, is of good character and is recommended by a "Regular Member". Honorary membership will be denied for anyone convicted of a criminal offense.

• Applicates for membership in the Connecticut State Police Emerald Society Inc. agree to conform to, abide by and be bound by the constitution, by-laws and rules now in force and hereafter adopted.

• Applications will not be accepted unless it is properly filled out and signed by the applicant and accompanied with membership dues.

• Applications can be mailed or given in person to any officer on the board of directors of the Connecticut State Police Emerald Society Inc. Membership fee is $25.00 (Retired Troopers permanently residing out of state-$10.00) and will be collected with the application and for the yearly dues thereafter due on March 17th. Members currently on military active duty are exempt from annual dues.

• Life Membership can be achieved after 20 years of membership or purchasing equivalent time.

• Membership can be revoked by the Executive Board for misconduct, or any behavior deemed inappropriate.
